Our heartfelt congratulations to the two fabulous winners of this year's Nancy Comley Prize: Tenisha McDonald for her essay "A Black Narrative Voice: Genre, Authorship, and Authenticity in The History of Mary Prince: A West Indian Slave Narrative" + Amanda Torres for her essay “'I put it down on paper and then the ghost does not ache so much': The House on Mango Street as a Woman of Color Feminist Response to Intersectional Trauma"!
The faculty judges for the award had an incredibly difficult time choosing a winner this year, because of the high caliber of all the submissions. And ultimately they decided they had to pick two winners! We're all so blown away by and proud of the brilliant work our graduate students are doing.
You're all invited to our annual Writing Prizes Ceremony on Wednesday, May 2, at 3pm in the Godwin-Ternbach Museum, where we'll celebrate Tenisha's and Amanda's accomplishments, as well as those of all the undergrad and grad award winners.
Congrats again, Tenisha and Amanda!
