Dear Graduate Students,
We are excited to announce that we will be holding the QC English Department's first annual graduate conference this Spring 2014.
We are looking for some volunteers to join the Graduate Conference Committee and help organize the conference. The committee's responsibilities will include crafting a conference theme and call for papers, making decisions on submissions, organizing panels, and asking faculty to chair the panels. We hope to schedule the conference in mid-April and expect to meet about once a month between now and then.
Even if you don't volunteer, we hope that you'll all consider submitting proposals once the call for papers goes out at the beginning of next semester. Conference organizers and presenters will be participating in an important aspect of professional academic life (and it looks great on CVs and applications for those of you planning to continue your graduate studies).
If you're interested in joining the Graduate Conference Committee for 2013-14, please let us know via email and also plan to attend the first committee meeting on Wednesday, December 4, from 5:30-6:30pm in Klapper 710. We look forward to working with you on what promises to be a very rewarding and exciting event!
