Dear Graduating Students,

The English Department's graduation ceremony will take place on Thursday, May 31, in the Goldstein Theater, around 11:30am (or about 30 minutes after the campus-wide commencement ceremony). MA students who are graduating in Spring 2018, who already graduated in Fall 2017, and who won't be officially graduating till Summer 2018--you are all welcome to participate in the ceremony, since it only happens once a year.

For the department ceremony, no RSVP or tickets are required. I recommend you and your loved ones get there by at least 11 to grab seats (and even earlier if you need to look for parking). Graduates should come up to the stage, and you'll be given instructions on where to sit, when to line up to get your name called, etc. Cap and gown are optional. The ceremony usually lasts about an hour, and there's a small reception with cake afterward.

You don't have to participate in the campus-wide ceremony to come to the department ceremony. However, if you do plan on going to the campus ceremony, you can RSVP at http://www.qc.cuny.edu/registrar/graduation/commencement/Pages/commencement_ceremony_rsvp.aspx.

Finally, please be sure that your mailing address is up-to-date in CUNYfirst, as that is where they'll be mailing your official diploma.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email. And so looking forward to congratulating you in person and celebrating your accomplishments!

Best,
Dr. Caroline Hong
