The Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship program, directed by François Pierre Louis (Political Science), is hoping to recruit two fellows out of cycle. The regular recruitment cycle begins in the fall, but there are available slots now. This fellowship, in place at Queens for 29 years now, has spectacular outcomes: at least 23 MMUF fellows have completed doctoral degrees, for example. Please help us recruit eligible students by sharing this email with them, and having them contact Dr. Pierre-Louis (francois.pierrelouis@qc.cuny.edu<mailto:francois.pierrelouis@qc.cuny.edu>). More information: https://www.qc.cuny.edu/Academics/Honors/mellonmays. Details about the fellowship: Mellon fellows receive: * two years of tuition reimbursement * an annual stipend of up to $7,000 * mentorship from a faculty member in preparation for doctoral work Mellon fellows should have: * sophomore standing * a 3.3+ GPA * minority identity or demonstrated commitment to eradicating racial disparities and promoting racial and ethnic understanding * a major in one of the Mellon areas, which are: * Anthropology * Area Studies * Art History * Classics * Demography * Ecology * English * Ethnomusicology * Film, Cinema, & Media Studies * Foreign Languages * Geography & Population Studies * History * Linguistics * Literature * Philosophy * Political Theory Religion * Sociology * Theater (nonperformance focus) Let me know if you have any questions, and happy Fourth!
