[History undergraduates] FW: Virtual Cybersecurity Internship Course in July
Dear History Students, Dean Wolfe has asked me to pass along the following opportunity to learn more about cybersecurity. This is open to all majors. Best, Prof. Celello From: Dennis o'Connell <dennis@iq4.com> Date: Thursday, July 11, 2019 at 7:43 AM To: Ying Zhou <Ying.Zhou@qc.cuny.edu>, Michael Wolfe <Michael.Wolfe@qc.cuny.edu> Subject: Virtual Internship Course in July . Ying and Michael, iQ4 is planning to offer again in July our four session "Threat Within" cybersecurity applied learning course directly to students as a virtual internship. This is a virtual only, non credit course. The course is not highly technical and is designed specifically to introduce students, regardless of their major, to cybersecurity, as an academic discipline and/or as a career alternative. For example, cybersecurity executives are seeking graduates with critical thinking and analytical skills. This is an opportunity for students to develop/enhance their "soft skills" using cybersecurity as the use case. The students will be working in teams and presenting their weekly assignments to our volunteer, industry mentors. Students are welcome to form their own team to take the course. iQ4 will provide the instructor: a computer science professor. The students will receive an iQ4 Certificate of Completion, upon completing the four session course, along with a Skills Passport--an online, next gen resume from iQ4. The students simply can register for the course at www.iQ4.com<http://www.iQ4.com>. The course fee is $99.99. No textbooks are required. The course is offered Wednesday evenings beginning July 16 through August 6. We would like to ask you to forward this email along to your colleagues: department chairs, faculty, career services staff, academic advisors, etc. and ask them to promote this opportunity to their students and relevant clubs/organizations. Thank you very much.
