Dear History majors,

I wanted to let you know that three 700-level History courses for this coming spring semester will be open to qualified undergraduates.  If you are interested in any of these courses, let me know, and I can review your transcript to see if you qualify.  (In most cases, permission to take these courses will require a 3.0 GPA in undergraduate History courses, plus either Hist 101 or 102.)   If approved, you can come into the department to register.

The courses are as follows:

Hist 710: Alexander the Great, Prof. O'Brien, Mondays, 4:30-6:10, RZ 109.  Concentration: ancient and premodern history.
Hist 795: Five Crises in European History, Prof. Pine, Wednesdays, 6:30-8:10, PH 156.  Concentration: European history.  (The "five crises" in question would be the French Revolution; the revolutions of 1848; Bismarck and the unification of Germany; the origins of WWI; and Hitler and the Holocaust.)
Hist 799: Europe since 1945, Prof. Alteras, Mondays, 4:30-6:10, PH 157.  Concentration: European history.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Best,
Prof. Allen
