Attention College Seniors:
Applications are now open for the 
Gilder Lehrman History Scholar Awards! 
  • Attend private seminars with eminent historians
  • Interact with historic documents during private archival visits
  • Spend an expenses-paid weekend in New York City
History Scholar Award winners viewing a copy of the Thirteenth Amendment signed by Abraham Lincoln and members of Congress during a private archive tour of the Gilder Lehrman Collection.

About the Gilder Lehrman History Scholars Award:

The Gilder Lehrman History Scholar Award program recognizes outstanding graduating college seniors who have demonstrated academic and extracurricular excellence in American history or American studies as well as a commitment to public service and community involvement.

 

Fifteen top American history college seniors will be selected for the award. Each winner will receive:

  • A long weekend in New York City, June 3-7, 2015.
  • A program of special presentations, including meetings with eminent scholars. 
  • Exclusive behind-the-scenes tours of historic archives.
  • An awards presentation and celebratory dinner in their honor.
