Dear Faculty and Colleagues,

Are any of your students interested in social change and economic justice?

At CUNY’s Murphy Institute, we offer two unique programs that provide students with tools for leadership, scholarship, and advocacy:  New York Union Semester  and the Masters of Arts Degree in Labor Studies .

NY Union Semester offers a mentored internship at a union or worker organization as well as 4 labor studies courses.  The program welcomes college graduates and undergraduates from across the U.S. and other countries.  Interns receive:
·         A weekly stipend and unlimited Metro Card
·         In-state tuition, a scholarship, and credits for labor studies courses

In the MA in Labor Studies, students examine the history, debates and challenges affecting working people and unions, from an interdisciplinary perspective. This is an ideal degree for anyone interested in advocacy, research, non-profits and social justice. We offer:
·         Evening classes in midtown Manhattan; Internships
·         Affordable tuition; Academic resources

We would be grateful for your help spreading the word!  Please:
1.       Announce the programs.  We can send materials and speak at classes.
