Dear History majors,
Phi Alpha Theta is organizing its Upper New York Regional conference, which will take place on Saturday April 30, 2016 at SUNY Plattsburgh. This is a great opportunity to present a paper in a collegial, supportive environment -- if you are interested in applying for History PhDs this could be a great line on your CV.
Paper proposals are due by FRIDAY March 4 and should be sent to the organizers, Jessamyn Neuhaus and Connie Shemo (emails below). Proposals should include the presenter’s contact information and an abstract (250 word max) summarizing the argument and sources consulted.
All participating students are invited to a casual evening reception (pizza provided) on Friday, April 29, hosted by the Plattsburgh PAT students. The conference registration fee will be $10.00 and registration includes a continental breakfast and lunch on Saturday. Additional information about the keynote speaker Dr. Gary Kroll, local historical attractions, travel information, and discounted lodgings will be forthcoming.
The call for papers is below. Please note: you don't have to be a member of Phi Alpha Theta to present (but only PAT members are eligible for conference awards). If you are interested in learning more about Phi Alpha Theta and joining you can find more information here, and can contact me for further information.
All the best,
Prof. Bregoli
