Omar Eaton-Martínez, M. Ed., recruits and manages over 200 interns and fellows. He conducts presentations to various stakeholders to increase access to the Smithsonian, and develops partnerships with educational institutions and non-governmental organizations, as well as providing strategy for diversity recruitment for certain positions at the museum. He created the Smithsonian Career Center Conference to educate stakeholders about the intern/fellow experience at the Smithsonian. Before joining the Smithsonian, Omar worked at the National Park Service, the Office of the National Museum of the American Latino Commission, NASA, and he also was a K-12 teacher in NYC and DC.
