Dear History Majors,
I am e-mailing you to see if there are some History Majors who would be interested in working with Prof. Wintermute on the World War II Veterans Project. Those who are interested will have the opportunity to be trained in oral history and to learn first-hand from participants more about this crucial episode in United States History. Unfortunately the group of students who were participants in the project have graduated and thus far no one has stepped up to take their place. Those who did participate found their participation a meaningful experience, including the opportunity to meet Arnold Franco, an alumnus and veteran who is the sponsor of the project.
If you are interested, you should contact Prof. Wintermute in the History in Powdermaker Hall 352. It is possible that if you do get seriously involved, you could register for an independent tutorial on the project for next semester while beginning your work this semester.
Sincerely,
Prof. Warren
