Program Description: The NYC Teaching Fellows program is preparing a critical mass of exceptional teachers committed to a better future for the NYC students. Our teachers go where they are needed most – they teach in low-income neighborhoods, where too many children have fallen behind and are struggling to catch up. Currently, Fellows make up more than 11% of the teaching force in New York City. In high-need areas, our impact is even greater. Fellows make up 23 percent of all special education teachers in NYC, 21 percent of all science teachers in NYC, and 15 percent of all teachers in the Bronx.

Fellows who successfully complete our program become full-time teachers within a few months of enrolling. They participate in an innovative, practice-based summer training program and then earn a subsidized master's degree in Education while teaching in a New York City public school. Our application for the June 2015 Fellowship is closing on March 6. Visit nycteachingfellows.org today to learn more about our program and prepare for our application process.
