He is a founding convener of the ECPR Standing Group on Political Violence and co-convener of the Political Studies Association of Ireland Specialist Group on Peace and Conflict, having organised several conferences, workshops and panels on the theme of peace and conflict in recent years, in Galway, Dublin, London and Rekjavik.
