Dear History Students, If you have been accepted to law school for next year, you should apply for the: BEBERFALL LAW SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP The Beberfall Law School Scholarship will be awarded to a graduating student, in any major, who shows great promise in pursuing a legal career. To qualify for the scholarship, students must have been already accepted to, and agreed to attend, an ABA-approved law school starting in the coming fall. Deadline for applications: MONDAY, APRIL 29, 2019 All application materials, including the completed form and an approximately 1,000-word personal statement, should be sent to Prof. Kristin Celello, Chair of the History Dept, Powdermaker 352 by Monday, April 29, 2019 (Kristin.Celello(a)qc.cuny.edu) Forms are available in the History Dept (Powdermaker 352) and the Political Science Dept (Powdermaker 200) and are attached to this email. The Clinton Institute at University College Dublin is conducting a survey with support of the Government of Ireland, designed for young (18-30 years old) Americans of Irish descent in New York and the tri-state area. The primary aim of the research project is to provide fresh knowledge and understanding about this generation and its views on Irish identity. [History undergraduates] Summer Session II course coming up

During Summer Session II, come learn about Nineteenth Century Europe in History 218, with Dr. Steve Haller. This course will navigate discussions on the Industrial Revolution, liberalism vs. conservatism, the revolutions that developed modern states, and the ways Europe changed and were changed by the places they encountered during imperialism. We will study Europe's "Long Nineteenth Century," and how it has shaped our contemporary world.

They will participate in a variety of professional development workshops and opportunities designed to build community leadership skills and support success in school and beyond. This year, the Futures Initiative is pleased to announce a partnership with the Promise and Perils of Democracy project supported by the Carnegie Corporation of New York.
