I have fond memories of my time at Queens College, and especially the courses I took with you. I see that you are now Director and Chair of the GSLIS program. Congratulations! That makes me feel even better about my dear alma mater. I’m retiring after 16 years at Poly Prep Country Day School in Brooklyn, which means that come September there will be an opening for the position of Library Director (Middle and Upper School) who would also serve as the Upper School librarian. The school administrators want someone with an MLS and at least 5 years of experience in the field, preferably in a comparable private school setting. They do not require NYS teacher/librarian certification, but would prefer a candidate with classroom teaching experience—a history teaching background would be a big plus. I was hoping that the stars might align and you would know of a perfect someone who fits the above professional profile and is currently looking for a new position.
