Dear faculty, The department chairs have just been informed by Dean Wolfe that "the college learned last week that it faces a new backpay obligation to the engineers which will require immediate cuts in our Temp, Adjunct, and OTPS accounts." Budget cuts in these areas will have a significant impact on GSLIS spring teaching schedules, as courses with very low enrollment will need to be cancelled and in some cases full time faculty may be reassigned to cover courses previously assigned to adjuncts. KB and I will meet with Dean Wolfe tomorrow to make the best case for preserving as much of the GSLIS budget as is possible and KB will follow up with you individually to discuss any needed changes to your spring 2017 schedule.
