This is what happens when IT folks take over policy...a big change. This is not necessarily a reflection of computers but rather a reflection of people who are in charge of computers, who are essentially anti-people. I see it all over the place. An interesting sociological study .....life as a function of IT best practices. It begs for new theory in organization management. Whatever. -- To prove the point (read the other email first)...this response to the help ticket says my problem was successfully resolved. This seems like a very silly policy, since they then cannot see anything regarding their courses until they are re-upped!!!! This is protocol. Unfortunately I did not know this and wasted my time with several rounds of user names and passwords, a call to the help desk and a wait for a response. It's ok - I really don't need it right now except to see who is enrolled. That I will have to get Aug 26, at the last minute. Most importantly, I can still see how many are enrolled and the classroom assignment (which bt w is TBD), as a "student guest." For control freaks like me, who like to be all buttoned up the first day of school, what a pain in the ass!

Case 238554 has been resolved with a successful solution. We apologize for any inconvenience this problem may have caused you. Solution : Please see email below from HR FYI Adjuncts who did not work at Queens this summer and are expected to resume employment with us in fall----- - -- beginning August 26, 2011. Adjuncts that did not continue employment with Queens this summer were terminated in CUNY1st COD 5/31/2011. Upon their r eturn they will be "rehired" in the system. ALL OF THIS IS IN KEEPING WITH PROCEDURES IN CUNYFIRST RELATING TO ACTIVE VS. INACTIVE EMPLOYEE RECORDS. AS YOU KNOW, HCM POSITION NUMBERS NEED TO BE SHOWN AS VACANT WHEN PAYROLL RECORDS ARE NOT ACTIVE. THE BUDGET RECORDS AND PAYROLL RECORDS NEED TO MATCH CUNYFIRST DATA.
