This brings us to our needed $250 for the quarter page ad. I have written and called the Marketing/Communications Office and they have responded with the following minor changes: The Graduate School of Library and Information Studies (GSLIS), Queens College, CUNY is proud to salute the honorees of the Louis Armstrong House Museum’s Gala 2014: Dick Cavett Stephen Maitland-Lewis Andrew P. Jackson (Sekou Molefi Baako), GSLIS Adjunct Professor [add QC and CUNY logos at the bottom] I have a pretty booked schedule today but will try to pull something coherent together tomorrow. If anyone has more advanced graphic design skills than I, your assistance would be most welcome. Steve Whalen has shared some sample ads from past such announcements to provide guidance, which I can forward to interested volunteers. In the meantime, thanks again to all! It looks like sending a check to me and I will place the ad on our behalf tomorrow will be the way to go. Here is some proposed verbiage for the quarter page ad we are seeing to place in the Louis Armstrong House Museum Gala Journal. Please respond with suggested changes at your earliest convenience; the ad must be placed by tomorrow and I need to run it through the QC Communications office.

We have commitments for $200 of the $250 required for the ad. If anyone else would care to contribute, please let me know. I will have more information after speaking with the Communications Office about to whome a check should be addressed.

Many thanks to all those who have offered to contribute; this seems like a good PR opportunity for the GSLIS.

I have a thought. How about the professors and alumni raise a little money to buy an ad in the Journal for the event. there is not a lot of time, but if 10 of us were willing to put in $25 we could get a 1/4 page. Just a thought.
