A new funding initiative of the Institute for Museum and Library Services and the MacArthur Foundation is accepting applications for up to $100,000 to plan and design learning labs in museums and libraries across the country. Using the YOUmedia<http://www.kintera.org/TR.asp?a=nuI0JaPPKoLVIfI&s=iuL2LjOXIoI3JhORJpE&m=coJPKVMwEjJMI0I>teen space at Chicago’s main public library as a model, the initiative will support up to 30 labs that will serve as prototypes for the use of digital media for learning. *The deadline for submitting applications is August 15, 2011.* Read more about the initiative »<http://www.kintera.org/TR.asp?a=gnJMKPNnEhKIKVL&s=iuL2LjOXIoI3JhORJpE&m=coJPKVMwEjJMI0I> YOUMedia Teen Library Space to Expand in Chicago<http://www.kintera.org/TR.asp?a=jgLSKYOzGkJPI5K&s=iuL2LjOXIoI3JhORJpE&m=coJPKVMwEjJMI0I>
Building on the success of the innovative YOUMedia<http://www.kintera.org/TR.asp?a=jgISI1OwFdJVJcL&s=iuL2LjOXIoI3JhORJpE&m=coJPKVMwEjJMI0I>teen space at Chicago’s Harold Washington Public Library, three new MacArthur-supported learning labs will open this summer in Chicago neighborhood libraries.
