Colleagues, Following a meeting of the college leadership yesterday to address an impending fiscal crisis, the Dean has instructed all Chairs to raise the cap on graduate level classes from 20 to 25 students, effective from the Fall term. Due to classroom sizes, I have asked that in person classes be exempted from this increase. Classes with lower caps, such as 709 and 710, will stay as they are. This is obviously not good news, but all departments are being asked to contribute in this way to the longer term sustainability of the college.
