Gslisadjuncts Enrollment update for GSLIS
As of yesterday, GSLIS has enrolled 65 new students for spring 2016 - our projection for this semester, based on past enrollment patterns for spring coming in at 50% of fall enrollments, was 45. So we have exceeded our projection by quite a large margin! This is clearly great news and strong indicator that we are back on track. Many thanks to all of you who have helped in admissions and recruiting, especially Dr. Perry and Professor Johnathan Thayer, who have worked hard on making the new joint MLS/MA program get off the ground smoothly. Warmly, Colleen Colleen Cool, Ph.D. GSLIS Queens College/CUNY 65-30 Kissena Blvd. Flushing, N.Y. 11367 718-997-3790 colleen.cool@qc.cuny.edu

This is another strong indicator that the field of Librarianship, and all its ancillary areas, is still attracting future leaders. Congratulation GSLIS on another job well done! Arthur L. Thanks so much to Colleen for sharing this wonderful news and the kind words! A special thanks as well to Christel Haesicke for taking on so many of the LIS group interviews, and to Amanda McKee and Bridget Kavanagh, without whose essential support our Admissions process in the GSLIS would grind to a halt. Dr. Linda Cooper deserves credit for her work handling all aspects of the Library Media Specialist program, as well. My appreciation also to Prof. Thayer, echoing Colleen’s comments, and to our colleagues in History, Profs. Davie, Frangakis-Syretty, Connolly Smith and Alex Vickery. Of the 65 new students, nine of them are in the Joint MLS/MA program. We have much yet to do in ironing out logistical details, but are moving forward in ways we never anticipated. Happy New Year to us all! Claudia On Jan 14, 2016, at 12:08 PM, Colleen Cool <Colleen.Cool@qc.cuny.edu> wrote:
