Dear New QC Faculty, Welcome to QC! I'm the new Chapter Chair for our union, the PSC, which represents full-time and adjunct faculty (as well as some staff and lab positions). As a new faculty member, you're not automatically a member of our union because of the 2018 Supreme Court Case Janus v. AFSCME, which requires new employees to opt into unions. So my first request is to ask you to join the PSC by going here: https://psc-cuny.org/join-psc/ I also hope that you can join us at monthly chapter meetings, which will be in-person and on Zoom this fall. Our first meeting is Wednesday, August 30 at 12:15 pm in Powdermaker 132.
