To celebrate FOI Day 2012, SIBL is hosting a talk by Rob Weissman, President of the DC-based  advocacy organization, Public Citizen, (www.citizen.org)  a non-profit that advocates for citizens’ interests before Congress, the executive branch agencies,  and the courts.

Rob will discuss the value of public access to information to enable citizens to make truly informed decisions about how government should work for them, with a focus on the activities of Public Citizen. His organization, which deals with issues ranging from consumer law, energy policy, and fair trade to access to justice and health care, trumpets the crucial  role that public libraries play in helping John Q. Public access current and authoritative information.

This event will begin promptly at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow (Thursday, March 15, 2012) and will be held on the lower level of SIBL.  All welcome.
