Subject: Religious Accommodations for Pope's Passing

Dear Chairs,

Please remind our faculty members that observances related to the Pope's passing fall under our religious accommodation guidelines. A pope's death is followed by a nine-day mourning period. Students who request time off or extensions on assignments for this purpose should be accommodated in accordance with our institutional policies on religious observances.
