ECAR - EDUCAUSE Center for Applied Research

ATTENTION: A new research bulletin is now available
from the EDUCAUSE Center for Applied Research

Clickers in the Classroom: Transforming Students into Active Learners
by Tena B. Crews, Lara Ducate, Jeanna Marie Rathel, Karen Heid, and Stephen T. Bishoff
Research Bulletin 9, 2011

Abstract: This research bulletin discusses a program at the University of South Carolina to implement SRSs in the classroom and to study the impacts that the technology has on student outcomes. In our research, we also looked at the challenges that SRSs pose, both to students and to faculty members, and investigated best practices for using this technology.

Audiences: This research bulletin may prove particularly interesting to chief information officers, academic computing directors, faculty, instructional technologists, students, and teaching and learning specialists.
