Dear Students and Faculty,

According to the response tracker noted below, only 31.7% of GSLIS students have responded to the QC course evaluations.  Please take a moment to complete these brief surveys.  We normally exceed a 50% response rate and rank among the top responding departments in the college.  This semester we are in the bottom half.

Our course evaluations are an important measure for us in trying to improve the quality of our curriculum and our instruction, and were  mentioned prominently in the recent re-accreditation report by our site visit team.

Many thanks for your cooperation!

Subject: [QCsenate 0027]  Student Evaluations Continue

Dear Senators, Alternates, Ex-officio Members, and Guests,

We have gotten off to a good start with the online evaluations this year, with more than 9000 completed so far.   Evaluations started on November 17, and will continue through Thursday, December 15.

Please take the time to encourage students to contribute evaluations for all of the courses they're taking.  These evaluations (the comments in particular) are useful in assessing the impact of faculty teaching, and are also part of the supporting materials used for purposes of reappointment, tenure, and promotion.  They are also used by students to make decisions about what courses to take. Students who complete all their evaluations will receive $15 credit for printing on their QCard.
