Dear Students,

Congrats and thanks to all of you for responding so well to the online course evaluations!

We are at virtually the same percentage of response rate this semster as we were last, and certainly the largest number of course registrants in the top 12 programs/departments.

This is really helpful for mention in our accreditation report, and provides good visibility for our Department across campus.

Thanks again,

Claudia Perry and Linda Cooper

Subject: [QCsenate 0013]  Spring Course Evaluation Response Rate Tops 40%

Dear Senators, Alternates, Ex-Officio Members, and Guests,

The college-wide course evaluation response rate for the spring semester reached 40.6% with over 30,000 evaluations completed.   This represents a 10% increase over last fall, which means we are finally figuring out how to increase participation for the online survey.  A key part of this semester's effort was a more active student initiative to encourage participation, as well as improved visibility and accessibility of the evaluation site.  The pulsed email campaign directed by Eva Fernandez from the Center for Teaching & Learning was very important.  The printing incentive ($15.00 free printing to all students who completed all their evaluations) appears to have been effective, and will be continued next semester.

The details on department and program response rates, along with a comparison with Fall 2010, are in the attached spreadsheet.

Congratulations and thanks to everyone who helped with this effort -- next semester we will do even better
