Hi Laroi, Many thanks for the compliments from both you and President Jackson. This software might enable the entire group of faculty to get together, online, at various points during the academic year to interact. So far, my experience has been limited to approximately 10 people and it worked fairly well. On Sun, Oct 2, 2011 at 9:14 PM, Laroi Lawton <laroi.lawton@bcc.cuny.edu>wrote:
Nice!!!!
by the way, I really appreciated the faculty retreat recently held. I would also like to thank Prof. Brody as we serve on the same CUNY comittee which meets once a month at the Graduate Center. if you all will recall, it was raining 'cats and dogs'(no pun intended). A special thanks to Profs. Li and Jackson 'our very own' and everyone involved in putting this event together. I, personally walked away feeling rejuvenated despite the weather, and CUNY's financial restraints. We need to do this more often. Important questions were raised regarding our program and profession as well as showing how well 'we' individually and collectively bring to the program and profession are gifts that make our program so successful. We need to address them collectively with collaboration and continued discussion and debates from everyone.

Hi guys,
The Center For Teaching & Learning has given us access to Adobe Connect. It can be used in a variety of ways such as interviews, advising, committee meetings online, classroom discussions etc. It features text, audio and video and is quite flexible.
If you are interested in a demo please contact me and I will see if I can find a day/time/place where we can play around with it. If enough people are interested I can request time in an upcoming faculty meeting.
Here is what they say on their website:
“Easy webinar access Adobe Connect helps you maximize webinar attendance with a simple and intuitive interface, instant access from a variety of desktop and mobile devices, and automated registration and follow-up.
Rich, impactful experiences Adobe Connect makes it easy to capture audience attention by supporting a range of rich media content. And you can keep them engaged with real-time whiteboard discussions, polling, chat, and live Q&A.”
