Critical perspectives on information and its management have always been important, and while we hope that criticality is increasingly integrated in all
GSLIS classes, the Curriculum Committee is developing a number of classes that would specifically foster closer engagement with critical perspectives.
We invite students, faculty and others in the GSLIS community to help co-create a syllabus for a survey class called Critical Information Studies, by
suggesting course description text, learning outcomes, readings and assignments.
The current draft of the syllabus is accessible
here.
Once a draft is finalized, it will go through the college’s syllabus review process before being included in the
Course Catalog and schedule.
This is part of our ongoing curriculum review and redevelopment process. More information about this work will be available at the
Student Town Hall being held on Friday November 3rd.
