The Division
of Libraries, Academic Technology and Online Learning at Mercy College-New York
is seeking a Library Learning Commons Librarian - Coordinator for Instruction
and Assessment. This is a tenure track or multiple year track, rank open, 12
month appointment.
Reporting to the Director of Libraries, this faculty position will assume a
leadership role in the improvement of student information literacy management
skills and the assessment of learning outcomes. This involves full
participation in the library's instruction program including the development of
face-to-face, blended and online instructional sessions modalities, and
application of assessment tools and evaluation strategies.
This position will establish collaborative working relationships with library
and other academic faculty and departments across the College in order to
contribute to and enhance the services of the Libraries. As a member of the
overall Library Learning Commons (LLC) team, this position will develop
productive relationships with appropriate individuals and departments to
advance the objectives and mission of the LLC.
This position will also provide reference services, including teaching and
instruction training (some nights and weekends may be required), and will serve
as a liaison to one or more of the Schools. While this position is primarily
located at the Mercy College Dobbs Ferry Library Learning Commons, travel to
other campuses is an expectation.

Education Required or Min Education Required:
MLS or equivalent experience required, additional Master's degree(s) in an area related to Mercy curriculum highly desirable.
Preferred Qualifications:
MLS or equivalent experience required, additional graduate degree(s) in an area related to Mercy curriculum highly desirable. Desirable candidates will have a portfolio of materials related to information literacy, assessment techniques and technology fluency.
