I  hope your semester is off to a strong start and thought I would  alert you to  upcoming GSLIS activities and  to  the changes in CUNY February calendar.

Monday 11 February  at 5:00 PM is Tom Surprenant’s retirement party. If you forgot to RSVP and would like to come, please contact  Bridget Kavanagh and we will add you to the list. The cost of the party and gift is $25.

Tuesday 12 February   All CUNY colleges are closed

Thursday 14 February Tuesday classes will meet* [No Thursday classes]

Monday 18  February  All CUNY colleges are closed

Wednesday 20 February Monday classes will meet* [No Wednesday  classes]

Also on Wednesday 20 February: Our first Curriculum Space from 5:45 to 7:15 PM. Among the activities offered to students and faculty is a  session on   “APA Style”  and a forum discussing our school objectives.

Wednesday 27 February  Curriculum Space   from 5:45 to 7:15 PM.Dr. David Carr will talk about the Queens Museum of Art and their and collaboration with the Queens Public Library.  He will also talk about a chapter from his book, Open Conversations,  devoted to adult development and the need for information.

* To assure that there are fifteen weeks of classes for each day of the week, the schedule has been adjusted by CUNY on the days listed above

Other Curriculum Spaces this semester are scheduled from  5:45 to 7:15 PM on the following days:
April 18 [Thursday]

May 7 [Tuesday]

 

Curriculum spaces are not optional. Kindly release students from early classes on those days no later than 5:45 and begin late classes at 7:15.
