Congratulations to our winners!
The NYC Neighborhood Library Awards were held last evening. They recognize the tremendous
impact public libraries have on the diverse communities they serve. Queens was proud to have three out of the ten finalists.Langston Hughes Community Library and Cultural Center was awarded $20,000 for programs and
services.Queens Libraries at Cambria Heights and Sunnyside received $10,000 each.
Council Members Julissa Ferreras, Jimmy Van Bramer and I. Daneek Miller were each there to introduce their libraries, which was an honor in its own right. Let’s give them all a around of applause. Team Sunnyside
