Gslisadjuncts Introduction to APA Style during LBSCI 701, Thursday, 9-18-14

Dear Colleagues, Dr. Ping Li and I will hold a required workshop on APA Style for all students in LBSCI 701 from 6:40-7:40 on Thursday, September 18, 2014, in President’s Conference Room #2, in Rosenthal Library. If you do not yet have an QC ID, please accompany your course instructor to avoid problems being admitted to the Library. All students in core courses who have no previous experience with the 6th edition of the APA Style Manual also are encouraged to attend. The workshop will emphasize the correct handling of citations and references, as well as other key aspects of writing a research paper, according to accepted style at the GSLIS. The session should serve as an important refresher for any students needing to brush up on their APA skills, especially for those enrolled in LBSCI 709. This workshop will be held in place of the Curriculum Space at which an APA workshop is usually scheduled, due to logistical difficulties. We look forward to seeing you! Dear faculty, In preparation for the site visit next month, I am asking for help with the following tasks: 1. Soliciting 8-10 *alumni*; *employers; and adjunct faculty *for the three discussion groups with ERP members on Sunday October 5th, (exact time has not been determined, but either right before or after the 5-7pm welcome reception). 2. Managing local arrangements for the ERP members. 3. Planning the menu for the welcome reception. 4. Creating the invitation list and invitations for the welcome reception. 5. Scheduling the individual and group meetings on Monday and Tuesday of the visit. Please let me know what you can help with. I would like to have tasks assigned as soon as possible. Thank you. Gslisadjuncts GSLIS Accreditation Site Visit - Scheduling Needs

The site visit for the GSLIS re-accreditation will take place October 5-7, 2014. On October 5th we will host a welcome reception from 5-7pm in the Twomey Lounge, Rosenthal Library, to which all of you are invited. Formal invitations will go out shortly, so consider this message a "save the date" announcement. The panel members will meet with you individually and in groups. Attached you will find a list of scheduling needs sent to me by the Chair of the External Review Panel. Please look at this list to find your name and/or committee assignment and let me know what day and time is best for your meeting(s) with the panel members. This is the first of many messages you are likely to receive from me as we go into the home stretch of this re-accreditation process. Thank you for your help.
