[Englishstudents] Puppet theater course in Drama
Professor Meghan Healey is offering an exciting course in the Department of Drama, Theater, and Dance that may appeal to you, our English Majors. See details below, and please contact Professor Healey if you have any questions. I am very excited to announce that PUPPET THEATER WORKSHOP is BACK! This course will be offered on Monday afternoons in the Spring 2019 semester from 1:40-4:30. The course appears on the schedule as DRAMA 242: PUPPET WORKSHOP. This is an amazing class that involves creating your own original puppetry for existing texts, as well as creating original text for your own new puppet plays. It's a fantastic class for people who love performance and/or visual theater. This year's class will focus on found object puppetry. While no previous experience in puppetry is necessary, this is a permission only class. I am looking for actors, writers, designers, comedians, musicians, artists, and people who have a passion to try something new and be challenged. If you want to be considered for this workshop, please send me an email at meghan.healey@qc.cuny.edu<mailto:meghan.healey@qc.cuny.edu> with a short statement about your name, your major, your goals for taking this class, and any relevant course work or other skills or work you think you can bring to the class. I do have a limit of 15 students, so please make sure you contact me as soon as possible if you wish to be considered. Meghan E.
