Subject: May Graduation
Dear students,
Some of you have contacted me about May's graduation ceremony, and I wanted to share some preliminary information with you. More details will be sent out closer to the date.
The 2020 Commencement ceremony will be held on Thursday, May 28. The main ceremony begins around 9am on the main green, and is followed by the departmental ceremonies, which
usually begin around 12.30pm-1.00pm. The English department ceremony is held in the Goldstein Theater. All graduating students and their families are welcome to attend. If you are close to graduating and plan on taking classes over the summer to complete
your degree, you are also welcome to attend. Students are seated on the stage, while seating for families in the auditorium is on a first-come basis. We don't distribute tickets to the event, but there is always ample seating for everyone who comes. The
ceremony usually lasts about an hour, and is followed by a reception.
Students may attend either the main ceremony or the department ceremony or both. Regalia is not required for the department ceremony, but is encouraged. More information about regalia
rental and graduation photos will be sent out closer to the date.
Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about commencement.
Very best,
Dr. Siān Silyn Roberts
