Dear English Majors and Minors,
I hope you're all hanging in there in these final weeks of the semester. We're almost there!
As the semester comes to a close, I wanted to remind you of a few things. Please feel free to reach out to the English Department with any questions or concerns you may have. If you have questions
about grading policies, absences (yours or your professor's), or anything else, please send us an email or come by the English Department. We'd rather know than not know, especially if there's a potential issue. You can reach out to me directly or you can
email English@qc.cuny.edu.
Also, I know this is the time of year when some students start considering asking for an incomplete. Please try to do this as sparingly as possible. In my experience, incompletes become even harder
to complete once the semester is over and many become FINS (which factor into your GPA as an F). If you don't think you can complete the semester because of a personal or family emergency, you should reach out to the
Office of Student Affairs. Also,
Counseling Services is here to help you as well. And of course, the
Writing Center is a wonderful resource for help with your final essays.
Good luck with the last few weeks and with your final exams and papers!
all my best,
Karen Weingarten
