Dear students,

We've decided to move all preregistration and advisement to email for the next week. Please see below for revised details.

I realize that many of you may be wondering about the department's plans in the event of campus closure, and our expectations regarding the completion of courses. We will be sending out more information about this later today or tomorrow. For now, the college is still open, and classes are being held as usual, but we have asked faculty to be as flexible as possible, within reason, about student absences due to medical illness or self-quarantine. You must inform your instructor if you are going to be absent from class.

Preregistration for Fall 2020 English undergraduate courses will take place on Monday March 16, Tuesday March 17, March 18 by email (sian.silyn.roberts@qc.cuny.edu). For details about preregistration in graduate programs, please see below.

All English majors, minors, and graduate students may preregister for up to three courses in the Fall. Our course offerings are currently available on CUNYFirst, and detailed course descriptions are on the English department website. Please note the following:

Preregistering by email. Due to concerns about covid-19, we will be conducting all preregistration for Fall 2020 over email. Only undergraduate students in good standing may preregister by email (i.e. maintaining a GPA of 2.0 or higher). Please include your name, CUNYFirst ID number, the names of the courses you wish to register for, and their five digit course codes. Emails without this information won't be processed.
Advisement If you need advisement on your courses, please email me (sian.silyn.roberts@qc.cuny.edu) or Andrea Walkden (andrea.walkden@qc.cuny.edu). We will do our best to answer any questions you have over email.
MFA students may register by email (nicole.cooley@qc.cuny.edu).
MA students may preregister by email (caroline.hong@qc.cuny.edu or william.orchard@qc.cuny.edu)
English Honors. English majors with a GPA of 3.3 or higher are encouraged to apply to the English Honors program. Please see the attached flyer for next year's Honors topic, and for more information about applying. Please email Natalie Leger (natalie.leger@qc.cuny.edu) for an application.
