Dear students, I do hope these final weeks of the semester are wrapping up well. We are nearly there! I wanted to let you know about an exciting course we are offering in Spring 2020 with a visiting Professor, Josh Neufeld, on reading and writing graphic novels. Prof. Neufeld is an award-winning cartoonist and journalist, and his course will focus on non-fiction comic works. He is only with us for one semester, so we won't be able to offer this course again in the near future. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn about comic books and comic creation from one of the best artists in the field. Even if you are interested in creating fiction comics, this is still a really amazing chance to refine your skills. No artistic talent is necessary! Just bring your paper and pencils and a curious mind. It is on Wednesday nights, 6:40pm-9:30pm (course code 26996). The prerequisite for the course is ENGL 211W, but if you have taken ENG 210W, I will waive this prerequisite. Please email me at sian.silyn.roberts@qc.cuny.edu<mailto:sian.silyn.roberts@qc.cuny.edu> if you would like to register for this course and need the prerequisite waived. Very best, Dr. Siân Silyn Roberts Associate Professor of English Director of Undergraduate Studies Department of English, Queens College Klapper Hall 601 Office Hours for Fall 2019: M/W 12:00-1:00pm and by appointment
