Deadline: Monday, Sept. 30, 2019

Process: Journal of Multidisciplinary Undergraduate Scholarship invites submissions for issue 4.1, On Failure. This issue is dedicated to work that explores how we understand failure, how failing impacts our lives, and how we might rethink traditional frameworks for failure. What does it mean to fail? How might the ways we imagine failure impact the ways that we interpret history, politics, or relationships? How have failures shaped our world? 

We will consider submissions that engage with the topic of failure in any field, including creative and critical pieces. Potential submissions might address but are not limited to the following: 

·     Failure in science and technology

·     National, international, political, or economic failures

·     Literary or artistic failures and flops

·     Failure and queer theory

·     Personal failures, failed relationships, or failing others

·     Failure and disability studies

·     Historical blunders

·     Disasters or epidemics

·     Failure and education

·     Failure and change
