Dear English Majors and Minors, Next Monday, April 1 is the last day to officially withdraw from your courses and receive a W on your transcript. If you think you may be in danger of a failing a course, please talk with your professor about whether it's advisable for you to withdraw. At this point in the semester, you should have had work returned to you, and you should have a sense of your standing in your courses. Dear Students, We will be holding an information session on the Accelerated Master's Program in English on Wednesday, April 3, from 12:15 to 1:30 pm in Klapper 334. The Accelerated MA Program provides you the opportunity to take MA classes as an undergraduate, to count those courses to BOTH your MA and BA degrees, and makes it possible to finish your MA in as little as one year. To be eligible for the program, you need to be a junior or senior with a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Dear English majors, minors, MA, and MFA students, It's nearly time to preregister for your Fall 2019 courses! Please take a moment to check our course offerings for next semester in CUNYFirst, or stop by the department office (Klapper Hall, sixth floor) to see what will be available. During the preregistration period, you may preregister for up to three English classes. [Englishstudents] New Initiative at Writing Center

Hello! I wanted to let you know about an exciting new initiative at the Writing Center. This March, we're launching Women+ at the Writing Center, aimed at providing space and services more intentionally for women+ (women, genderqueer, nonbinary) undergrads and grads. We're hosting mini writing retreats, women+ writing groups, and a conversation series. Our very first mini-retreat is this Friday, 8am-11am in Kiely 229!
