Queens United Middle School 289, a New York City public middle school in Laurelton, Queens, has a new principal as of July 2018.

Our mission is to provide a safe, vibrant environment for authentic, rigorous learning of the highest quality that provides extraordinary experiences in the disciplines of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM) and nurtures a spirit of excellence in all our middle school scholars as they prepare for high school, college,  and careers.

We are looking for teachers whose practice:

  • Demonstrates an unwavering belief in the power of education to change lives for the better.
  • Characterizes the reflective pursuit of an educator who learns more in order for his/her students to achieve more.
  • Reflects deep enduring understandings about the essence of his/her subject area and a growing toolkit of strategies to effectively teach these essential concepts to all students.

All candidates must be NYS certified.

 

Positions for immediate hire:

  • Math teacher [full time or f-status/part-time]
  • After school math tutoring (must be currently working in NYCDOE)
