We have a very loyal alum there, Josh DeLaRosa.  He is stationed in Baltimore but the position is eligible for remote work.

Position Announcement

National Center for Education Statistics

School Pulse Panel (SPP) Program

The National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) in the U.S. Department of Education’s Institute of Education Sciences (IES) is seeking an experienced Study Director (Statistician – Education) to oversee the School Pulse Panel (SPP). The position is located in the Cross-Sectional Surveys Branch of the Sample Surveys Division, which is responsible for an extensive set of data collection and reporting systems for schools, teachers, principals and households.

Designed to provide real time information to policymakers and the public, the SPP is a dynamic monthly data collection from a nationally representative panel of public K-12 schools. The SPP team briefs policy offices with summaries of results and posts information for public use within a few weeks of each collection. The survey covers a variety of topic areas including student and teacher mental health, staffing, school safety, and learning recovery.  New content is integrated as needed to meet novel and pressing data requirements. The study is designed and conducted in collaboration with other Federal agencies.  The Study Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the design, collection and reporting of data from the SPP including coordination of the work of SPP staff members.  This position will be the primary contact within NCES for the SPP program and will be a liaison to Department offices and other Federal agencies that utilize the SPP.  More information on the SPP can be found here: School Pulse Panel (ed.gov)
