Through this work, you will help Survey 160 achieve its mission of providing accurate and actionable public opinion research at affordable costs.

The survey management contractor role is fully remote and can be based anywhere, conditional on being authorized to work in the United States. For this role, we are looking for someone willing to work evening and weekend hours.

This is a temporary position to support data collection efforts during the 2024 election season and is expected to end in November 2024.

This position is ideal for late-stage PhD students or other candidates with established quantitative skills and schedule flexibility. We are looking for candidates who are passionate about survey research, methodological innovation and advancing progressive values.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proficiencies in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.

  • Ability to work well with remote colleagues.

  • Problem-solving, critical thinking & communication skills.

  • Highest degree of integrity, specifically with respect to access to sensitive client information/data.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated interest in advancing progressive values.

  • Prior academic or industry experience with survey design and/or survey data analysis, especially including list-based sampling, weighting, and preparation of toplines and crosstabs.

  • Ability to creatively contribute to internal research to develop best practices for live SMS and text-to-web surveys.

LOCATION

Survey 160 is a fully remote company, though all applicants must be eligible to work in the United States and be able to virtually meet with other team members during US time zone working hours. Willingness to work night and night weekend hours is preferred for this contract position.

COMPENSATION

The compensation for this contract is $35 per hour.

HOURS

We are looking for flexible capacity for up to 20 hours per week. For this role, we are looking for someone who is willing to work on Saturdays, Sundays, and evenings. Specifics are negotiable, but the ability to at least be on call during weekends is essential. Additionally, we are looking for someone willing to work in Eastern time or earlier.

CONTACT

For information about the position or to apply, contact Kevin Collins at kcollins@survey160.com. Please include a resume or CV and a cover letter. That cover letter should describe why you are interested in the position, the amount of time you are available for work between June and November, your level of familiarity with each Stata and R, and any experience you have doing original data collection (not just analysis of existing data).

We will begin reviewing submissions on May 6, 2024.
