Help shape the future of education data collections. The National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) in the U.S. Department of Education’s Institute of Education Sciences has a new position focused on NCES’ school crime and safety surveys program. The position involves managing the collection of data from individuals and establishments, as well as analysis of extant data.
NCES supports the School Crime Supplement to the National Crime and Victimization Survey (NCVS) as well as other collections that touch on issues of school crime and safety. NCES accomplishes its data collection work through contracts with other government agencies and non-governmental organizations. This position involves developing new crime and safety survey collections and providing contract management support across the branch.
The position is within the Cross-Sectional Surveys Branch of the Sample Surveys Division, which is responsible for the School Pulse Panel (SPP), Crime and Safety Surveys (CSS), National Household Education Survey (NHES), the National Teacher and Principal Survey (NTPS), the Private School Universe Survey (PSS), Current Population Survey – October Supplement (CPS), and the Career and Technical Education Statistics Program (CTE).
