May 18, 2023—9:00 am to 1:30 pm NYC POVERTY TRACKER SYMPOSIUM
+ DATA TRAINING You're Invited!
To our colleagues, friends, and community:
On May 18th, 2023, the Center on Poverty and Social Policy (CPSP) will host a symposium and data training featuring the Poverty Tracker, a unique longitudinal study of the dynamics of poverty and disadvantage in New York City. In 2012, we teamed up with Robin Hood <https://columbia.us15.list-manage.com/track/click?u=9301d73acd7f3cd24e3f54e3d&id=0a152ca2ba&e=480c7edba6> to create a new data source that tracks multiple facets of well-being and disadvantage among individuals and families in the city. After over 10 years of the study, we have now collected a wealth of information on New Yorkers’ incomes, hardships, health, economic security, service needs, jobs, and many other topics. Register for NYC Poverty Tracker Symposium <https://columbia.us15.list-manage.com/track/click?u=9301d73acd7f3cd24e3f54e3d&id=bfc0a98ab4&e=480c7edba6> Please join us this year for an in-person symposium to discuss the unique features of our data and highlights of a decade of research on the Poverty Tracker. In addition, we have amassed a powerful set of data that we want to turn over toyou. Much of our data is available for use, and we want to show you how to use it. <https://columbia.us15.list-manage.com/track/click?u=9301d73acd7f3cd24e3f54e3d&id=6fba645092&e=480c7edba6> For people interested in learning more, we will conclude with an optional data training.
We look forward to seeing you on May 18. Space is limited, so sign up early to reserve your spot!
Sincerely, Christopher Wimer & the CPSP team This event is a collaboration between the Center on Poverty and Social Policy, Columbia Population Research Center, and Robin Hood.
