Hi all,

We have another Data Analyst opening. If you could share this opportunity within your network, it would be much appreciated.  We have 2 openings, one for client facing team and one within Research and Insight Function (under my team).

Reflecting on my own experience, applying for an entry-level job was very challenging, and it often felt like you were treated poorly.

We want to provide a positive experience for our candidates, so we will review each application and resume individually who applied from the link below. Unfortunately, we cannot keep this posting open for long, and it will likely close by the end of the day on Thursday (10/31), as we receive many semi-automated applications these days.

Anyone who applies through the link below, I will personally review their resume.

* Please apply using the link below.
* Any cover letter or note about why you are interested would be much appreciated, and I will consider them during the review.

thanks

Data Analyst

Applecart is the leading technology company creating a new category of “Decision Maker Marketing”. The most important decisions are made by the hardest people to reach and influence. Historically, C-suite leaders have lacked the tools to reach the stakeholders that matter most to their business. The C-suites of hundreds of Fortune 500 companies, major agencies, trade associations, nonprofits, and governments use Applecart to put their best content in front of business critical decision makers and those they trust —  from policymakers and investors to CEOs, key employees, members of the media and more. Decision makers are informed by what they read, learn from advisors, hear from colleagues, and discuss with family and friends. To break through to them, you must reach them through the only channel that really moves them: those they know and trust. Applecart’s platform uses publicly available or fully permissioned data to map billions of social relationships between nearly every American adult and enable clients to deliver content directly to decision makers and those that matter most to them.

We are hiring a Data Analyst in our New York City office.

About the Role:

We are looking for a creative, self-motivated, flexible thinker to join our team. Working with Applecart’s data analysts and campaign and digital strategists, you will contribute to polling and predictive modeling efforts, targeting, and analytics on behalf of some of the country’s most prominent trade associations, digital campaigns, non-profits, independent expenditure efforts, and corporations. Your day-to-day work will revolve around both our internal and client-facing products built on audience data, custom survey research, as well as ad-hoc tasks to support our teams.

An ideal candidate will have experience with data cleaning, visualization, and navigating complex data structures to complete analytical tasks.

What You’ll Do:

Work quickly and fluently in Python and SQL to ingest, analyze, and transform internal datasets for use with data pipelines and client-facing deliverables.
Troubleshoot and solve problems for teams involving the processing, reporting, and delivery of audience data.
Work closely with the campaign and survey research team to create samples, process data, and conduct analysis for surveys. Execute data modeling utilizing survey results and other data sources.
Fulfill ad-hoc requests for client projects, which will typically involve data transformation, cleaning, and effective communication between project stakeholders.
Build, maintain, and extend the functionality of internal Tableau dashboards through intuitive and easy-to-read visualizations, charts, and tables.
Assist with long-term R&D related to audience data pipelines and deliverables.
Experiences and Capabilities You Bring:

College level coursework in statistics, survey research, data analysis, sampling, mathematics or statistics is a plus
1-3 years of work experience in data analysis
Proficiency with an object-oriented programming language, preferably Python or R
Experience with a library to manipulate data structures, such as (but not limited to) Pandas, Polars, dplyr, or duckDb is highly desirable
Experience with distributed data frameworks such as PySpark
Experience working with statistical libraries like scikit-learn, knowledge of supervised and unsupervised learning methodologies, and processing data for predictive pipelines.
Experience working in Tableau to produce intuitive, client-facing data reports and visualization
Intuitive knowledge of data structures and types in order to integrate and process datasets into Tableau dashboards
Capability to manage multiple tight timelines while being adaptive to cross-functional responsibilities and requests
Ability to develop an understanding of Applecart’s audience platform’s functionality and maintain a key sense of potential customizations
Ability to collaborate proactively with team members and be highly motivated in managing project work

This is a hybrid role. Work from anywhere on Monday and Friday and in Applecart’s New York City office Tuesday through Thursday.

Compensation:

Our compensation package consists of three components: (i) a base salary, (ii) annual cash bonus, and (iii) generous equity compensation.

The base salary range for this role is between $70,000-$90,000, based on the candidate's experience and skills relative to the requirements listed above. The salary range provided is exclusive of discretionary annual cash bonus and equity compensation. The salary range provided for this role is specific to candidates located in the New York City area.
