Sanametrix has an immediate need for a Statistical Analyst to work on multi-disciplinary teams across in-demand areas of research. Candidates are well-organized, self-motivated, analytical thinkers who can adapt to changing work environments across projects.
Statistical Analysts typically work closely with other specialists to provide a multi-disciplinary approach to research, analysis, and problem solving. Common tasks for this position include data organization and manipulation, statistical computing and modeling,
application of survey methodologies particularly the application of survey weights, interpretation and discussion of results with research teams, auditing data quality, creation of publication-ready tables and visualizations, documentation of data and analyses,
and drafting methods and results sections for papers and reports.
The Statistical Analyst works effectively as a member of a team and has the maturity to work independently from time to time. The position requires a positive attitude and the ability to remain flexible in a dynamic environment.
Interview Requirement: A writing sample and a SAS code sample.
Job Responsibilities:
Communicate with clients to identify and define project requirements, scope, and objectives.
Leverage industry best practices to support the design, testing, and implementation of technical solutions.
Design, perform, and check data editing/manipulation.
Assess data quality.
Fact-check and number-check reports of other analysts.
Perform quality and accuracy checks on scripts of other analysts.
Conduct analysis of sample surveys and administrative data.
Prepare toplines, cross-tabulations, and other data summaries.
Prepare tables and charts and other visualizations.
Prepare code and project documentation.
Explore techniques for examining data, such as ways to use big data and other secondary source data that can be used in tandem with survey findings.
Adapt to change quickly and adjust work accordingly in a positive manner.
Support client communications including the development of presentations and client reports.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Statistics, Demography, Sociology, or related field.
Experience carrying out applied statistical analyses.
Expertise in the use of SAS, particularly the SURVEY procedures.
Proven ability to work on multiple projects and balance time-sensitive deliverables.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability and willingness to work with a multi-disciplinary team.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with R or Python.
Experience using Jira or a similar ticket tracking software.
Experience with agile methodology.
