Google Summer of Code

The 2025 Google Summer of Code (GSoC) program is open to students and beginners in open source software development. To enhance your chances of becoming a GSoC contributor, start by watching the Introduction to GSoC video and Community Talks to learn from past projects. Review the Contributor Guide and Advice for Applying, then explore the list of accepted organizations.

Once you find an exciting project idea, reach out to the organization’s mentors through their preferred communication channels. Engaging early and often increases your chances of acceptance. Introduce yourself, ask questions, and determine if the project is a good fit. Use these insights to craft a strong proposal.

Start exploring today and take the first step toward contributing to open source. The deadline is April 8, 2025.
