New: We will also hear about the successful transition from one of your peers. The workshop will be one hour, virtual on Zoom. You must register with me by email to receive the link. Free, of course. Are you a post-secondary student or early professional interested in building your professional resume and expanding your professional and academic networks? CMS offers two internship opportunities: Communications and Program (Research). Each internship will provide different insights into the organization and the work we’re producing through our various channels. Here’s some things you can look forward to when applying for each position: Communications: * Contribute to CMS’s online communications and social media marketing, including CMS’s social media networks (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn), and potentially contribute blog posts for the CMS website; * Build distribution lists and readership of CMS’s newsletter, publications, and scholarly journals (International Migration Review<https://cmsny.us5.list-manage.com/track/click?u=ab341dd06620fe24c64cc2f00&i…>, Journal on Migration and Human Security<https://cmsny.us5.list-manage.com/track/click?u=ab341dd06620fe24c64cc2f00&i…>, Migration Update<https://cmsny.us5.list-manage.com/track/click?u=ab341dd06620fe24c64cc2f00&i…>) through identification of key constituents including scholars, public officials, faith communities, community-based organizations, non-governmental organizations, corporate leaders, and others; * Assist with the production and dissemination of press releases and other external relations materials; * Assist in the production of podcasts and event videos; . . .and more! If you are interested in graphic design, social media and content management, and other online workflows, you will find a home in our team this Spring. Program (Research): Support our researchers, fellows, and executive staff with: * Research-related tasks, including literature review, data cleaning and analysis, and copyediting; * Responding to and researching media requests and questions; * Assisting in research for briefings and testimony. . . .and more! These internships provide professional development opportunities for students and young professionals interested in migration and policy developments. CMS is a mission-driven workplace filled with opportunities to learn, explore new ideas, and build new skills. Qualifications Candidates must be enrolled or have recently completed an undergraduate or graduate studies program. Potential candidates must be detail-oriented and have excellent written and spoken communication skills, outstanding organizational skills, and the ability to work independently.
