StreetWise Partners would like to invite you to join them for a panel and conversation on the important topic of Stereotype
Threat-- this Thursday, June 10th from 6pm - 7:45pm.
The session will be hosted by Elevating Black Voices, a StreetWise Partners community group. Stereotype threat is an experience that can significantly and negatively affect a diverse array of individuals, including
racial/ethnic minorities, women, members of the LGBTQ community, and individuals with disabilities. It generally refers to the risk of confirming a negative stereotype that members of one’s group are less capable in some way, but it can also affect those who
feel subject to very high expectations. The stress and anxiety induced by stereotype threats can hinder growth and success in one's professional life and play a huge part in their experience in the workplace.
This special session is open to all members of the StreetWise community–including volunteers, mentees, supporters, and those interested in learning more! The session begins with a panel discussion and is followed
by small group conversations where every attendee will have the opportunity to network and dive deeper into the topic of stereotype threat.
